Treanor, Orange Lead the Nation in Scoring

Syracuse boasts the top two scorers in the country in Kayla Treanor and Alyssa Murray.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Sophomore Kayla Treanor and senior Alyssa Murray were the nation's top two individual scorers and Syracuse was the highest scoring team in the country in the final NCAA women's lacrosse statistics. Treanor led the nation with 117 points, while Murray was right behind with 110, helping the Orange to a total of 493 in 2014.
Treanor ranked second in the country in goals with a school-record 79. She also ranked fourth in points per game (4.88), eighth in goals per game (3.29) and 14th in assists (38). Murray was fifth in assists (45), seventh in goals (65), eighth in points per game (4.58) and 18th in assists per game (1.88). In addition, junior Kailah Kempney ranked 17th in draw controls (4.46 per game).
Syracuse ranked in the top 10 in five statistical categories. The Orange was fourth in winning percentage (.875), fifth in scoring offense (14.38 gpg.), seventh in draw controls (14.67 per game) and 10th in scoring margin (5.50).
Syracuse set a school-record for victories, finishing the season with a 21-3 record. The Orange earned a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular-season title and advanced to the national championship game for the second time in school history.
