Rowing Teams Host 'Evening at Ten Eyck'

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University Athletic Department and the Syracuse Alumni Rowing Association (SARA) will host the second annual Evening at Ten Eyck and honor its 2014 Hall of Fame class on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse.
The Orange will host a night of festivities surrounding the crew races including a recreational row at 4 p.m. which all alumni are welcome to attend, a social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. that will feature light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, preliminary races at 6 p.m. and final races at 7:30 p.m. The event will culminate with a dinner at 8:30 p.m. that welcomes the 2014 Hall of Fame Inductees.
The 2014 Hall of Fame Class includes Steve Gladstone (1964), Clifford "Tip" Goes (1914), Drew Harrison (1968), Dr. Marty Hilfinger (1914), Tom Kerr (1939), Mark Lyvers (1977), Howard Robbins (1914) and the 1913 IRA Champion varsity eight.
The Orange women's rowing program will be honoring Mark Lyvers, the first coach in the program's history. Several members of that first crew in 1978 are expected to be returning for the event, including current SARA president Lynne Pascale.
Tickets to the event will cost $50 per person. Those interested in attending are asked to register online by Aug. 29.
