SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse paid homage to four of its football legends on Saturday. The University unveiled statues at Plaza 44 honoring former running backs Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little, and a statue outside the Ensley Athletic Center for former head coach Ben Schwartzwalder in a public ceremony prior to the Orange's game versus No. 1 Clemson.
Brown, Little and their families, as well as Davis' family members, took part in the ceremony along with Orange Director of Athletics Mark Coyle, Plaza 44 donors Jeff and Jennifer Rubin and family, and Ensley Athletic Center benefactors Cliff and Sue Ensley.
