Drummond averaged 12.3 points per game last season
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University head women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman announced the addition of forward Miranda Drummond for the upcoming 2016-17 season. A transfer from St. Bonaventure University, Drummond will be eligible to play in games during the 2017-18 campaign and will have two years of eligibility.
"Miranda is a skilled hybrid wing with a complete offensive skillset," commented Hillsman. "She has the ability to defend three positions on the floor. She was a full-time starter at St. Bonaventure and volume 3-point shooter, which makes her a perfect fit for our system."
As a sophomore in 2015-16, Drummond helped St. Bonaventure to the second round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The 6-1 forward ranked second on the club in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game. Drummond, a starter in 29 contests, knocked down 59 3-point field goals on the year, making more than 36 percent of her attempts from deep.
In her first season on campus, the Binghamton, N.Y. native appeared in 28 games. She scored a season-best 17 points at Richmond and notched 10 points against 2015 NCAA Tournament participant Dayton.
At Harpursville High School, Drummond was a nominee for the McDonald's All-America game and finalist for New York's Miss Basketball in 2014. She earned NYSSA All-State Class C First Team as a senior for her efforts on the court. Drummond also competed in cross country, where she earned all-state accolades.
