Former SU Aide Brings Eagles To Dome

SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse will host Eastern Michigan and head coach Rob Murphy in the Dome on Monday, December 19. Murphy was an assistant on the Orange staff before taking the helm at Eastern Michigan.
Syracuse has a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series with Eastern Michigan. The Orange lost the first meeting in 1996-97, 68-65, and has won the three subsequent encounters. Syracuse won 70-48 in the most recent pairing in 2013-14.
Murphy's clubs have forged a 91-80 overall record and a 43-43 Mid-American Conference record in five seasons at Eastern Michigan. Last year's club was 18-15 overall.
The Eagles return their top three scorers – redshirt senior guard Raven Lee (15.1 ppg.), sophomore center James Thompson (14.8 ppg.), and senior guard Willie Mangum (12.0 ppg.) Thompson also averaged 10.7 rebounds per outing.
Syracuse reached its sixth NCAA Final Four last year, capping off a 23-14 campaign.
Coach Jim Boeheim enters his 41st season as Syracuse head coach.
