SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Six former members of the Syracuse University football program, including former head coach and offensive lineman Doug Marrone, were in action during Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season.
Marrone coached the Jacksonville Jaguars to their eighth win of the season, a 30-10 victory over Indianapolis on Dec. 3. The Jaguars totaled 426 yards of offense to remain in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt. They are 8-4 on the year.
Below is a quick recap of how Syracuse's football alums fared last weekend:
Jay Bromley, DT, New York Giants
- Credited with a tackle in New York's 24-17 loss at Oakland on Dec. 3.
Riley Dixon, P, Denver Broncos
- Averaged 48.6 yards on seven punts, downing two inside the 20-yard line, at Miami on Dec. 3.
Dwight Freeney, DE, Detroit Lions
- Signed with the Lions on Nov. 22. Played, but did not record any statistics against Baltimore on Dec. 3.
Chandler Jones, OLB, Arizona Cardinals
- Tallied three tackles, a sack and forced a fumble against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 3.
Shamarko Thomas, DB, Buffalo Bills
- Tallied a special teams tackle in Buffalo's 23-3 loss to New England on Dec. 3.
Doug Marrone, Head Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Coached the Jaguars to a 30-10 victory over Indianapolis on Dec. 3.
