Lydon To Enter NBA Draft

Syracuse sophomore Tyler Lydon has decided to enter his name in the 2017 NBA Draft. Lydon announced the decision via social media.
The 6-9 forward started all 34 games for the Orange this season and ranked second in scoring average (13.2) and first in rebound average (8.6). He also led Syracuse in blocked shots (49) and finished second in minutes-played average (36.1).
"We support Tyler's decision to enter the 2017 NBA Draft," said Syracuse Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim. "Tyler has meant a lot to our basketball program over the last two years.
"He played a big role in our run to the 2016 Final Four and in the success we had this past season. He will do very well at the next level. I'm very happy for Tyler because he is a great kid."
Lydon was a steady contributor for Syracuse, scoring in double digits 23 times. He ended up with nine double-doubles. He produced a remarkable stretch of 11 consecutive games playing in every minute. The stretch covered 450 minutes total. Over the last 15 games, he only subbed out in one contest.
The Syracuse program has had players selected in the NBA Draft in nine of the last ten seasons. The streak started with Demetris Nichols in 2007 and is still active after Michael Gbinije and Malachi Richardson were both picked last year.
