- Sunday's game is part of a Syracuse athletics triple-header. With the women's soccer team playing at 1 p.m. in the SU Soccer Stadium, and the men's soccer team taking the field at 7 p.m.
'Cuse vs. Bucknell
- The Orange enter Saturday's contest having won eight of their nine all-time against the Bison, including a 4-3 victory in 2016.
- Lies Lagerweij has historically performed well in Bucknell games, averaging two goals per game, including scoring two second half goals a year ago to break a 2-2 tie and net the eventual game-winner.
- Syracuse has won five-straight games against Bucknell, including all-three matchups under head coach Ange Bradley. The last Bison win came in 1987 at Bucknell, with the Bison won a double-overtime matchup.
'Cuse vs. Ohio
- The Orange and Bobcats will meet for the first time since 2014 on Sunday.
- 'Cuse is 2-1 all-time against Ohio in their history, with Syracuse having won the last-two matchups.
- In the 2014 matchup, Syracuse got a pair of goals from then freshman Annalena Ulbrich in the victory.Â
- Head coach Ange Bradley is 2-0 all-time against Ohio in her time at Syracuse.
'Cuse Ranked in 100th-Straight Poll
- The Orange were slotted fifth in the NFHCA Preseason Poll, its 24th-straight poll ranked inside the top-five.
- Syracuse hasn't been ranked outside the top-five since the second-to-last poll of 2014, before the team would go on to reach the first NCAA Championship game in program history.
- Syracuse has been ranked in 100-straight polls and has been ranked every week since the start of the 2008 season, including spending 97 of those 100 polls in the top-10.
Freshmen Stepping Up
- In their first-three contests of the season, the Syracuse field hockey team received contributions from numerous freshmen.
- Led by Carolin Hoffmann's hat trick against No. 25 Pacific and three-straight shutouts from Borg van der Velde, the Orange have played nine rookies thus far in 2017.Â
Balanced Attack
- Nine different players have recorded points for the Orange thus far in 2017 on the team's eight goals.
- No player has played a direct hand in more than three tallies, leading 'Cuse to be dangerous from a number of different players.
Hurff and Weers Honored
- Laura Hurff and Roos Weers were tabbed to the Preseason All-ACC team as voted by the league's seven head coaches.
- They are two of the three returning First Team All-ACC players from last season, joining senior back Lies Lagerweij.
- Syracuse was also picked to finish second in the ACC by the coaches this season.
