
Former Orange Goaltender Tabbed as Assistant Coach in CWHL

Jenesica Drinkwater (’14) joins the Vanke Rays coaching staff for the 2017-18 season
TORONTO – Former Orange goaltender Jenesica Drinkwater ('14) was tabbed as an assistant coach for the Vanke Rays, as announced by the team on Thursday. The Rays, a team based out of Shenzhen, China, will begin play in the Canadian Women's Hockey League in the 2017-18 season.
Drinkwater played four seasons at Syracuse, coming in at second all-time for games played with 66 contests during her time with the Orange. She ranks tied for second in season wins (16) and third in career saves (1573).
During her senior season, Drinkwater posted a .929 save percentage and a 1.83 goals against average, which is the most lowest average by a senior in program history. She tallied a season-high 37 saves twice against both St. Lawrence and Robert Morris.
Prior to joining the Vanke staff, Drinkwater served as a graduate assistant coach for the Castleton women's ice hockey team and as an assistant coach at Middlebury College, working primarily with the goaltenders. She received her degree from Syracuse in public health.
