SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse hosts Notre Dame in an ACC matchup Saturday, Jan. 6 at 3:15 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Tickets for all Orange home games are available online at Cuse.com, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX or in person at Gate B at the Carrier Dome.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 and on the Watch ESPN app. Fans can also listen to the live broadcast on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network.
Former Orange standout Dennis DuVal will join a group of ten other Syracuse players who have had their jerseys retired. DuVal's ceremony is scheduled for halftime. DuVal started all 81 games he played in at Syracuse, a streak covering the 1971-72, 1972-73 and 1973-74 seasons. He averaged 18.6 points per game and accumulated 1,504 points during his career.
For Starters
- Syracuse suffered its third setback of the season at Wake Forest on Wednesday. The Orange enter Saturday's game with a 12-3 record and a 1-1 mark in ACC play.
- Junior Paschal Chukwu ranks second in the ACC and ninth nationally with 3.3 blocks per game. The Orange also rank second in the conference and ninth in the country with 6.4 rejections per contest.
- Freshman Oshae Brissett, Sophomore Tyus Battle and Junior Frank Howard rank first, second and third, respectively, in the ACC for minutes played and the trio ranks in the top 10 nationally for playing time. Brissett leads the way with 37:24 minutes per game, followed by Battle (37:20 mpg.) and Howard (37:12 mpg.).
- Syracuse leads the all-time series over Notre Dame, 28-20, and has won four of the last five meetings. The Fighting Irish won last year's matchup 84-66.
Scouting the Fighting Irish
- Notre Dame (12-3, 2-0 ACC) comes to the Carrier Dome on a four-game winning streak. The Fighting Irish defeated Georgia Tech and NC State in their first two games of league play.
- Leading scorer, Bonzie Colson, is out due to injury. Matt Farrell (15.9 ppg.) and TJ Gibbs (14.6 ppg.) both average double-figure scoring for the Fighting Irish. Farrell has a team-high 76 assists and Martinas Geben is the team's second-leading rebounder, behind Colson, with 6.9 boards per game. Gibbs has connected on 47.2 percent (34-of-72) of his 3-point field goals.
- Mike Brey is in his 18th season as head coach at Notre Dame. Brey has guided the Fighting Irish to an average of 22 victories per season, three trips to the NCAA Sweet 16, back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 2015 and 2016 and the 2015 ACC Championship.

Syracuse plays the first of two consecutive road games at Virginia on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Tip-off in JPJ Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. Â
